Get An Avalanche Of Targeted Traffic By Writing Guest Posts

This article is contributed by Vadim Kirichenko.

You’ve probably been trying to get traffic for ages and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. After trying everything you can think of it might seem like there is nothing you can do to become a success. Lots of methods like SEO and video marketing take a long time before you see any decent results. You want something that will give you results in the shortest amount of time.

Have you ever considered guest blogging? Guest blogging is one of the quickest ways to get targeted traffic. Real people will click through to your website and they will sign up to your list. Although it takes time, it’s completely free and the more work you put in will see greater results.

So what is it?

The idea is simple: you contact relevant blogs and offer to write them a unique article. Something that will benefit their readers and give them some time off to work on other things. When you write a guest post you are almost always allowed a resource box in which you can include links back to your site.

Now you just need to make your article so good that people will love it. They need to read the whole article and be eager to find out more at the end. Once they spot your resource box they will click through because they love your writing and they want to know more. After they come through, a high percentage will sign up to your list.

What makes a blog relevant?

The easiest way to make sure your customers are targeted is by writing a guest post for a blog in the same niche as you. Obviously they read this blog so it makes sense they will also be interested in yours. If you have a cooking blog and you decide to guest post for a history blog, the traffic isn’t exactly going to be targeted.

That doesn’t mean you need to stick to blogs in your niche. Your blog can be completely different from the blog you write an article for, but people can still be interested. You just need to be creative. As an example, if you have a blog about fitness you could target a blog that talks about diet. People who want to get fit will also care about eating right.

What’s the plan of action?

Different blogs will have different ways of doing things. Some will ask you to email them with an idea and they will give you the go ahead depending on whether or not they like it. Others will simply ask you to write one and send it in. Decide what blogs you want to write for and see if they have any guidelines.

If not, you should just write them an email asking for a chance. Some bloggers don’t like you to contact them out of the blue. They don’t have any idea who you are. Begin by following their blog and leaving great comments. Follow them on Twitter. You want to be trying to get their attention so they will know who is contacting them. After you do this you can watch your visitors take off.

The sign is that for the Edinburgh Writers’ Museum.  It is tucked away in Lady Stairs Close, up a narrow staircase entered half-way up the Mound, in Edinburgh Old Town.
